We have three lovely seniors on our team this year, we decided to ask them to share a few words on their experiences studying abroad these past years.
Megan Chalk (#4) went to Grahamstown, SOuth Africa this past summer for a month and a half, her is what she had to say about it,
"It was amazing! I recommend everyone going if given the chance. When I was there I taught at a city school and loved every moment. Teaching these children was life changing and I miss them every day. When we weren't teaching we were sight seeing. Every moment was a new experience. Every day I became more and more grateful for what I was able to have growing up. To the students and people over there we were strangers but they all took us in and appreciated everything we did and brought with us."
Victoria Rain (Tori, #2) went to Salamanca, Spain this past summer for five weeks through a UConn Neuroscience program, here are a few words of her experiences over seas,
"It was super exciting, but so nerve racking in the beginning because I didn't know anyone in the program. I took two classes, a spanish class and a sensation and perception class, it was so biologically and science based because it a neuroscience class for UConn and John's Hopkins students. Besides classes, I was able to tour Salamanca which is this awesome old city, it was amazing. I was also able to visit different countries including Denmark and Italy. I had so many awesome experiences during these trips and bonded so much with the other students. I made so many new friends and miss them all so, so much. I miss being abroad even though I did miss being home as well. It was an amazing trip and I'm cutting out so many fun and exciting details. You're going to have a great time wherever/whenever/ if you go!!!"
Addie Lanzarotta (#11) went to Argentina for the past Spring semester of 2013, her is what she had to say about her time there,
"It was more fulfilling and amazing then I could have imagined. I met so many wonderful people, experienced a culture completely different from what I was used to, ate a ridiculous amount of delicious food, and had the opportunity to experience a new type of independence. Although you attend classes at a university, you have 3 or 4 long weekends and week off to travel around with new friends and the memories you leave with are unforgettable. My only regret is that I can't go back and do the whole thing over again!"
Pictures from the girl's trips abroad will be posted soon!!

This Week
We have this whole week to prepare for our upcoming game next Tuesday and the next Conference games. This past Monday, the team was given off since we had Conference games this weekend. The players spent the day going to the athletic trainers to work on anything bothering them physically, caught up on some sleep and did school work. Today we are coming into the gym with new goals for each individual and for the team as a whole. We are ready to work hard this week and make our team and game more concrete.
